Nicole Ari Parker has worked on film, television, and on stages. She was best known for playing Teri (the spirited attorney) Joseph. When she got married, she changed her name to Nikki Kodjoe. Born and raised within Baltimore Maryland. As an infant, she showed the desire to act and received the Top Actress Award at a Maryland High School Contest. In addition to her work as a theater actress, she also worked with The Washington Ballet Company. The company awarded her a degree in Acting from New York University. Contractor who was brought up by his parents from Nigeria and Mumbai prior to turning seven, had traveled around across the globe and lived through diverse cultures when he was a kid. Her education was at the boarding school of London between the ages of 7 and 9 years. Later, her family moved away from London in Toronto, Canada. Contractor studied and became an expert in classical dancing in Toronto. She attended an Etobicoke School of the Arts which is a highly specialized public arts high school where she was not just a dancer but studied theater as well. When she graduated from high school, Contractor accepted a scholarship at The University of Toronto to pursue the dual field of psychology and sociology. In addition, she obtained an advanced degree in theatre. Contractor was offered the leading role in Pericles following a brief time at University. She was a part of the audition for the role during the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and was awarded. Her performance received rave reviews. her work on the stage in 92 productions. this play, which was named as the best production by Canadian critics in 2002. She was given the chance to enroll in the Stratford Conservatory, which allows only eight males and four women to study traditional theater. Contractor was eager to accept. Contractor's participation in the next season's production was confirmed. She received the role of Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
